Adult Literacy: Definitions, Types, and Competencies

 

The classic sense of literacy involves reading, writing, and arithmetic, sometimes referred to as the three Rs. Some people may think that literacy and reading are interchangeable, however, literacy also includes language, writing, speaking, and listening.
